MASHAV is Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation (MASHAV) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, established by Golda Meir with the aim of training professionals from developing countries in various socio-economic fields.
The meeting was attended by approximately 15 representatives from various countries, including medical professionals and health policy makers. The group came to learn firsthand about the Helena Center and was accompanied by Dr. Renat Raines-Carmel and social worker Biadsa Afkar, who lead the Helena Center at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. This is the second time such an international visit has taken place at Hillel Yaffe.

Participants in the meeting received a general overview of Hillel Yaffe, visited the Catheterization Unit, Stroke Unit in the Neurology Department and the Medical Library, and heard about the activities in the Gynecology and Obstetrics Division. They then learned about the establishment of Helena Center and the work it does.
The choice to visit the the Helena Center at Hillel Yaffe was made by the Ministry of Health, which considers the way the center was established and how it is operated to be among the most successful in Israel.
