Hillel Yaffe Celebrated International Nurses Day Under the Banner of Resilience and Professional Pride

This week Hillel Yaffe Medical Center marked International Nurses Day, which is celebrated this week under the banner of resilience and well-being. The festive event brought together the hospital's entire nursing staff and was organized by the Nurses Committee.

 

Committee Chairperson Fanny Biton kicked off the day, emphasizing the importance of the nursing staff's work in the complex reality and the need to create breaks and a sense of mental and occupational security for them.

 

Nursing Director Dina Fainblat also spoke and referred to the sense of professional pride, saying, “This year we emphasized providing nurses with tools to promote resilience and well-being, in order to give them the resources they need to cope with complex situations. We are working to advance the professional and personal development of each and every nurse.” Fainblat thanked the Committee and its chairperson for the initiative and organization of the event.

Deputy Director of the Medical Center, Dr. Benjamin Abo, praised the staff. “What an incredible profession you have and one with a name the signifies family commitment. The staff here at Hillel Yaffe has chosen a difficult path, truly being on the front 24/7, on holidays, weekends and nights. You show up because of the love you have for the profession and for people, and you serve a beacon in times of weakness and crisis for families.”

 

National Association of Nurses in Israel Chairman, Shaul Sakif, stated that the profession of nursing proves that “it’s possible for us to be together, without conflicts and complications, regardless of religion, race or sex, in constant partnership, working shoulder to shoulder.” Hadera District Histadrut Chairman Itzik Yitzhaki added, “Nothing compares to the team at Hillel Yaffe, each and every one of you needs to feel that you are in good hands from the moment you pass through the gate.”

 

All the speakers expressed their hope for the speedy release of the hostages in Gaza and the psychological and physical recovery of all those wounded in the war and for days of unity and peace. The event was capped with a stand-up comedy show titled, Fatma - the First Bedouin Female Stand-up Comedian, that brought some laughter and served as a welcome relief for all participants.
