As part of their campaign to raise awareness of child safety, both at home and outdoors, Maram Kaawar, a social worker in the Department of Pediatrics, and Shira Aharon, a social work student, partnered with Olga Vionenko, Head Nurse of the Pediatrics Department, to create an informative booth offering safety guidance and demonstrations designed to prevent child injuries.
Throughout the day, the team provided visitors with important information on recommended foods for children under five and how to serve them safely to avoid choking hazards. They also explained rules for safe biking, how to prevent dehydration, CPR techniques, and safe practices for swimming at the beach, in pools and more.
Additionally, in collaboration with Beterem – Safe Kids Israel, educational pamphlets on child accidents and safety tips were distributed.
