At the cusp of the holiday, also known as the Festival of First Fruits, Hillel Yaffe Medical Center is delighted to present no fewer than 14 babies born as twins. All the babies are hospitalized in the Newborn and Neonatal Care Department, with five sets of twins receiving care and supervision in the NICU.
"It's not every day that we have seven sets of twins. It's truly a special and exciting challenge," said Dr. Amit Hochberg, Director of the Newborn and Neonatal Care Department at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. "Each set of twins requires individualized and tailored care, and our team is committed to providing the finest care for each and every one of the babies, particularly in the NICU, where infants requiring close care and monitoring are hospitalized, as some weigh less than one kilogram, while others need ventilation or other complex care. The department staff provides comprehensive care in all areas for parents and families, and offers them professional guidance, including instruction on breastfeeding, care, development and more."

Hanny Schwartz Goresh from Or Akiva is a mother of three boys, who just gave birth to twin girls through a natural delivery. “I had all of my babies at Hillel Yaffe. I feel at home here. At week 35, my water broke, and I was taken into the delivery room immediately. I had an amazing normal delivery thanks to midwives Zahava Sofer and Tanya Levy and doctors Dr. Hila Sharabi and Dr. Adi Rabin. The girls are currently hospitalized in the NICU due to their low weight and are expected to be discharged home in the next few days. I want to thank the entire team, starting with the Maternity Emergency Room and Delivery Room. Thanks to them I had a wonderful birth experience. Thanks also to the amazing NICU staff, who guide, support and listen to all my needs."
Almog Dan Hadad from Hadera, mother of twin boys, further added, "I had pre-eclampsia and was very worried about the delivery. In the end, I gave birth in week 34. I had a rather complicated delivery due to my medical condition, but I was fortunate to have had my midwife Naomi Cohen and Dr. Lucilla Zorzetti by my side. They supported us throughout the entire process, ensuring that we had an amazing and positive birth experience. We were hospitalized in the NICU for almost two weeks, and we’re going home today. We had the privilege of getting to know the devoted and professional NICU staff, who were very patient and supportive, and provided us with compassionate and comprehensive care.”
