The 2017-2018 academic year began this week at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center's Academic School of Nursing, with a record number of students - 1,413, of which 636 are enrolled in the program for academic registered nurses in the academic track and the program retraining college graduates for careers in nursing.
Dr. Merav Ben Natan, Director of the School of Nursing, who for several years now has been the driving force behind its success, noted that in 2010, the number of students enrolled was only 210, “Over time, more and more courses were opened, training for nurses offered. We expanded classes, added more instructors to the excellent existing faculty, which is highly invested in their work and has a great deal of knowledge and patience. We are there of our students 24/7.”
With that kind of motivation, it's no wonder that the school has had a 100% pass rate on the licensing exams for four years running. This year will see another expansion - a program for retraining college graduates for a career in nursing was opened, and it is the largest in Israel in terms of the number of students - 105. For the first time, school also opened to advanced courses: critical geriatric care and clinical instruction.
Most importantly, we wish everyone good luck and a very productive and calm academic year.
