Immigration absorption taken to the next level

On Tuesday, November 21, 2017, Minister of Aliyah and Integration, Sofa Landver, visited Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. During her visit, she met with physicians who work at the hospital as part of a special program run jointly by the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and the Ministry of Health, designed to help with residency and employment of physicians who are new immigrants.

The visit began with a brief meeting with the hospital administration and other guests. In the meeting, Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, Director General of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, reviewed the extensive work done at the hospital. During the review, Minister Landver shared that she had heard good things about the hospital and even mentioned specific departments.

She then met with eight doctors who had immigrated to Israel in the last three years and found work in the Pediatrics Department, Internal Medicine A, Internal Medicine D, Ophthalmology and the Department of Emergency Medicine. They shared their experiences with the Minister and everyone in attendance. All of them were grateful for the fact that the fund had enabled their employment at Hillel Yaffe, and they further stated that they had received significant assistance from the medical center's Human Resources team as well as their supervisors in the various departments.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister took a short tour of the hospital and visited Internal Medicine A, where she met the department director, Dr. Marinella Beckerman, who shared her personal story, as someone who came to Israel in the 1990s.

Minister Landver was joined on the visit by the Deputy Mayor of Hadera - Mr. Roman Gisher, and Ms. Dali Eli - Director of the Hadera District of the Ministry of Aliya, as well as the hospital administration - Dr. Amnon Ben Moshe - Administrative Director, Dr. Ohad Hochman - HYMC Deputy Director, and Ms. Dina Fainblatt - Director of Nursing.
