The representative of the center, Ms. Ravid Shubinsky - Director, and Ms. Galit Sabag - Operations Coordinator, came with bags of hats, vests and octopus dolls - all miniature and all knit with love and precision by the regular visitors to Milo Center, as well as by other seniors who wanted to participate in the special knitting project initiated by the center.
The Milo Center is a socio-educational senior center in the Menashe Regional Council. The connection between the center and the hospital came about following a joint activity on issues related to the health of senior citizens, which was held at the center by Hillel Yaffe experts.
They were welcomed in the unit by Newborn and Neonatal Care Department Director, Dr. Michael Feldman, and Head Nurse, Ms. Yasmin Peretz, along with her deputy, Nadia Korby. They were all delighted to receive the generous gift on behalf of the parents, with lots of excitement and the promise that the knit gifts would be given to the parents of every premature baby hospitalized in the unit. This promise was implemented right away, when a set of parents to a premature baby hospitalized in the unit received an octopus and hat from Ms. Shubinsky.
