Hillel Yaffe family - with love! |

“We have a small medical unit at home”
Dr. Sayaf Abu-Moch and Dr. Moran Abu-Moch - father and daughter. Live in aqa al-Gharbiyye.
Dr. Sayaf Abu-Moch is the Director of the Liver Unit in Internal Medicine B and has worked at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center since 1983. He began his career at Hillel Yaffe as an intern, continued as a resident in internal medicine and then served as a senior physician. His daughter, Dr. Moran Abu Moch, has been a resident in pediatrics for the past two years in Hillel Yaffe's Pediatrics Department.
Medicine is evidently a must in the family, because four members of the nuclear family work in medical fields. Dr. Sayaf Abu-Moch said, “My wife is a nurse and three of my four daughters are physicians. I admit that it’s a demanding profession, and I’m not sure I really encouraged them to pursue it, but that's what they saw at home, so maybe they didn’t think they had a choice,” he said with a smile. |

“We're proud that there is the next generation in the nursing profession”
Orly Basis and Shani Basis - mother and daughter. Live in Hofit.
Orly Basis is the Head Nurse in the Delivery Room, in the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. She has worked at Hillel Yaffee for 30 years. Her daughter, Shani Basis, has worked as a nurse in the hospital's Emergency Medicine Department (Emergency Room) since last October.
“I couldn't be any prouder that she chose to work in my profession, nursing,” said Orly Basis beaming with pride. “I have someone to hand my knowledge down to, and who knows, perhaps she’ll also be a delivery room nurse, despite the fact that now she chose to work in the Emergency Room, which is very demanding and complex work.” |

“In the end, we’ll have two orthopedists specializing in backs in the family”
Dr. Eyal Behrbalk and Dr. Rafael Behrbalk - brothers. Live in Even Yehuda.
Dr. Eyal Behrbalk has been the Director of the Spinal Unit in the Department of Orthopedics at Hillel Yaffee for the past three years. He “landed” at Hillel Yaffe directly from the UK, where he had worked for several years. His brother, Dr. Rafael Behrbalk is currently completing his internship, which he performed last year at Hillel Yaffe. Since he wants to follow in his brother's footsteps and specialize in orthopedics of the back, he has to perform his residency at a different hospital.
Dr. Eyal Behrbalk said, “We’re nine years apart, and I’m proud to say that while I didn’t convince him to study and work in medicine, from the moment he made his decision, I was the one who told him to become an orthopedist.” |
