In honor of his 80th birthday, Graciella Ziskin organized a birthday party for her husband with family and close friends. As part of the preparations for the event, the two decided to donate the gifts they would receive to the community. “My husband and I moved from Argentina about six years ago. We love Israel and the people here. We have everything we need and thought to donate the money to a nonprofit or some organization,” said Graciella.
After much thought, the two decided to donate the money to the Spinal Unit at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, where Graciella’s son, Dr. Gabriel Gutman, is a senior physician and director of the Pediatric Spinal Clinic. In the invitations they sent to the guests, the Levkovitzes asked that they not be given gifts and that, instead, anyone was welcome to donate as much as they wanted to the Orthopedic Division’s Spinal Unit at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. About 80 guests participated in the event, and the couple were able to raise no less than NIS 11,000.
The two came to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in order to give the donation to the unit. The director of the Spinal Unit at HIllel Yaffe Medical Center, Dr. Eyal Behrbalk, thanked the couple on behalf of the hospital administration for the generous donation, noting that it would be used to purchase special equipment to help the unit’s patients
