As they do every year, this year too, the employees of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center gathered for the traditional planting ceremony on Tu Bishvat. The ceremony held this year took place, without a doubt, in an environment experiencing constant growth.
All visitors to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center will be impressed by the extensive construction and renovation at numerous sites - construction of a new building for the NICU, renovation of Inpatient Building A for a variety of departments and units, and as part of this effort, the construction of an additional new catheterization room and expansion of the Cardiac Division, construction of a new area for the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) Clinic and Hearing Institute, the Oncology Institute, Neurology Department, and a new area for the General Intensive Care Unit. In addition to these comes the renovation and upgrade of the Department of Emergency Medicine, a commercial center that will be opened in the near future and many other areas that are being renovated and upgraded - all for the welfare of the patients, visitors and hospital staff.

And since we’re are dealing with Tu Bishat, let’s not forget the therapeutic relaxation garden for maternity ward patients that was opened this year, and the main entrance area to the hospital, which was renovated and rebuilt thanks to funding from Keren Kayemet Le’Israel-Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF). These two projects serve as refreshing “green lungs” within the medical center.
What's more, as part of the Tu Bishvat festivities, medical center employees, patients and visitors enjoyed a colorful, bountiful and especially happy farmers’ market.
