Dr. Anat Yaffe and her daughter, Yuval Yaffe Moshkowitz, have already been working in the same place for several years – Hillel Yaffe Medical Center.
Dr. Anat Yaffe is director of the Endocrinology and Diabetes Unit at Hillel Yaffe. She began working at the hospital 24 years ago, and has served as unit director for the past 20 years. Her daughter, Yuval Yaffe Moshkowitz, has already worked as a midwife for 5.5 years, and was previously a nurse in the hospital’s Newborn and Neonatal Care Department.
Even though both women work at the same workplace, they rarely meet. “We each work in different fields and different departments. If I ever meet Yuval, it’s usually in the hospital corridors, when she is bringing a baby from the delivery room to the Newborn Department,” said Dr. Yaffe.

Yuval, as a doctor’s daughter, never thought of going into this field. “When I was young, I didn’t think I’d work in the medical field. The first time I came into contact with midwifery was around 16 years ago, when I was with my mother during her last (sixth) birth, that took place here, at Hillel Yaffe. Even though I almost fainted during the birth, I understood afterwards that this was the profession I wanted to have and that’s really how it all began,” added Yuval.
Around 10 years later, Yuval, who had been with her mother while she gave birth and watched from the side, came full circle and became a midwife herself at the same hospital, Hillel Yaffe.
