Pampering Moms to Be at the Pregnancy and Childbirth Fair

It was cold and sunny outside last Friday. But Hillel Yaffe’s conference hall hosted 170 pregnant women and their partners, who came to enjoy an event to pamper expectant parents.

It began with a delicious breakfast spread, prepared by the kitchen staff, similar to what is served to new mothers in the hospital, and continued with lectures given by experts in different fields from the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science. At the same time, staff from the medical center’s Alternative Medicine Clinic offered massages, and there were exhibition booths to complete the happy atmosphere.

During the fair, organized with the help of Shirley Regev and Nicole Yashar, Hillel Yaffe's professional staff gave lectures on a variety of topics, including a virtual tour of the Delivery Room by Orly Basis, Clinical Supervisor of the Maternity Department; childbirth options and pregnancy and birth terminology – a lecture given by Dr. Haim David, Delivery Room Director, and a lecture about how alternative medicine can help during childbirth – by Danit Katz-Stern, a therapist from the hospital’s Alternative Medicine Clinic. Another lecture, which was very warmly received by the audience, was given by numerologist Dov Gruner, who discussed choosing a name for your newborn.

The event ended with a surprise for the audience, with a new mother who came specially to tell her personal and moving story about giving birth at Hillel Yaffe, highly praising the department staff.
