The donation enabled the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center to carry out environmental development which serves as a “green lung”, greeting visitors entering the doors of the medical center and which benefits both breathing and the scenery. The project, intended to provide a peaceful spot for both patients and their families and the medical staff, is the result of large-scale gardening: plants, planting lawns and trees, creating seating areas, and constructing new, underground infrastructure. Mrs. Matalon, one of the JNF Italy’s major donors, contributed, as noted, NIS 2 million for the project.
Up until now, Mrs. Matalon has donated to dozens of projects throughout Israel, particularly those that benefit children with special needs, hospitals, medical institutions, etc. Deputy Director of the Medical Center, Dr. Alon Nevet, who met Mrs. Matalon during her visit to the hospital to see the project, thanked her for her generous donation that “helps everyone breathe”.
