On arrival, Minister Edelstein was given a short review of the hospital’s development and the huge overload it has experienced in the coronavirus departments since the beginning of March, as well as the current and future challenges faced by the hospital which serves a population of around half a million residents. The minster also heard about the future development programs for a comprehensive medical center. The management of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center along with additional senior Ministry of Health officials attended the event.
During his visit, the minister, together with the Medical Center management headed by Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, toured the various hospital departments, including the Neonatal Care Department, the dedicated area for women suspected of having coronavirus needing gynecological and obstetric care, Infectious Diseases A, the Coronavirus Department, and the Intensive Care Unit. In each department, he spoke to the staff and their heads, and displayed great interest and empathy.
