Staff at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center’s Pediatric Emergency Medicine Unit have recently begun using VR headsets for children who have come to be treated in the Emergency Room. These headsets distract the children from the medical procedures and calm their feelings of fear and anxiety.

Director of the Pediatrics Wing at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, Dr. Adi Klein: “There are many children who come to the Emergency Room who are afraid and anxious about the treatment or examination. This means enables us to distract them and treat them as quickly and effectively as possible, without them objecting to such things as taking blood samples, stitching cuts, and setting broken bones, and the children are usually surprised that the procedure is over before they even noticed.”
