At the ceremony, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Elon Eisenberg, and his deputy, Prof. Zohar Keidar, together with the Director of the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, and Chair of the Technion Medical Students Committee, Mr. Chen Haskia, presented the students with certificates of merit from the Faculty together with a gift from the hospital and the Faculty of Medicine.
The outstanding doctors were from the departments of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Imaging, Gastroenterology, Plastic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT, and Neurology. Likewise, the prize for the outstanding department for teaching was awarded to the Plastic Surgery Unit, headed by Dr. Yoram Wolf.
During his opening remarks, Prof. Eisenberg noted the ongoing partnership with the hospital, as well as it being outstanding in its teaching – not something to be taken for granted – along with the fact that the excellent lecturers are a strategic asset for Hillel Yaffe and the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion.
Director of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, added that the excellence of the various specialists from Hillel Yaffe, along with the rise in the number of academic appointments each year, as well as the complex activity in demanding branches of medicine, and research and academia, are essential for the hospital and its future.
Those greeting the attendees also included Mr. Chen Haskia, Chair of the Technion Medical Students Committee, who noted that he constantly hears compliments about the teaching of the Hillel Yaffe specialists.
At the end of the ceremony, everyone took their places for the traditional annual photo.
