“At about 2:30 p.m., I finished getting everything ready for the holiday, which we were hosting this year,” said Hodaya Shemesh (37) from Zichron Yaakov. “I’d been having contractions for several days and had gone to the ER a few times. In the end, I decided that when he wanted out, he'd come out. As soon as I'd finished everything, my water broke, and my husband drive us right away to the ER at Hillel Yaffe - and he decided to make a grand entrance at the start of the holiday. As far as I’m concerned, this is the best gift I could ever receive for the New Year.”

She also said that this was her sixth delivery at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center and that four sisters and a brother were waiting to meet their new brother. She welcomed her baby boy with midwives Tammy Yagodayev and Rona Reichman-Karitz at her side. She describes them as having enabled her to experience a powerful, attentive, soothing and professional delivery. “If I need to deliver more babies - only at Hillel Yaffe - my midwives embraced me throughout and made the experience a dream,” she said with a smile, “If I’m not going to be at home on the eve of the holiday, then it's wonderful to have this kind of delivery with such a fantastic team.”
Since the start of the New Year, the delivery room at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center has welcomed another six new babies into the world, and the staff is prepared for the others on the way.
Happy New Year!
