Could anything be better than giving birth together with your sister? Ask Chen Pariente and Rosie Ben Kalifa from Hadera who gave birth to their babies just several hours apart. Rosie and Chen live in Hadera, right next to each other. They both became pregnant around the same time and spent those special months sharing their experiences.
For Rosie (30), this was her second pregnancy. She came into Hillel Yaffe Medical Center for a planned C-section scheduled for October 23, which happens to be her sister Chen's birthday. Rosie gave birth to her son, who weighed 3.600 kg. When Chen came to visit Rosie in the HYMC Maternity Department, she began having strong contractions and back pain, and went immediately to the Emergency Room, which is next to the Maternity Department. After being examined, she was told to walk around and come back in an hour. When she came back, her water broke, and she was taken into the delivery room. A few hours later, she gave birth to her daughter through a normal delivery. The baby weighed 3.150 kg.
The Maternity Department staff arranged things so that the sisters could share a room, one bed next to the other, which brought back childhood memories, “We couldn't believe that we gave birth just a few hours apart. The incredible nurses in the department arranged everything so we could share a room, just like when we were little girls. For us, this is the best and most exciting experience we could ask for.”
