The moving and important fundraiser was held this week at the Dan Caesarea on the one-year anniversary of Ofer Klein’s death. He was a well-known businessman and resident of Caesarea, who passed away after a courageous battle against cancer. Anat, his wife, and his four children decided to hold the evening in his memory. All proceeds and donations from the event will go towards the establishment of a new Outpatient Oncology-Hematology Center at HYMC.
At the beginning of the evening, with close to 200 people participating, Ofer’s wife Anat spoke of his many activities on behalf of the community and how important it was to her to hold this fundraiser and, by doing so, to continue Ofer's tradition of giving, even after his death. “Hillel Yaffe Medical Center is the hospital that serves us all. They saved my life and the life of our youngest daughter there. The hospital is a strategic asset, and it is our obligation and responsibility, as residents of the region, to help strengthen it on behalf of the region's residents.”
Mickey Dudkiewicz, Director General of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, and Moshe Morag, Chairman of Friends of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, thanked the Klein family sincerely for the moving and significant evening and for their being partners in advancing the hospital, especially in raising funds for the establishment of a new Outpatient Oncology-Hematology Center for the many patients the medical center serves.
After greetings and the screening of a moving film in memory of Ofer, Kobi Meidan and Itay Perl gave a performance dedicated to the legendary singer and creator, Leonard Cohen, whose songs were the soundtrack of the late Ofer Klein's life.
