On Research Day, which was held this week at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, several prominent studies selected by a committee headed by Cardiology Division Director and Chairman of the Research Committee, Prof. Ariel Roguin, were presented. The studies related to a variety of fields, including arrhythmias, implications of the COVID-19 vaccine on myocarditis among young men, transport of lab tests by drone, development of a new diagnostic tool for fertility issues, hip fracture injuries in dialysis patients and more.
Dean of the Technion's Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Ami Aronheim praised the strong connection between the hospital's management and the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion, and the desire for productive collaboration in promoting research between the two institutions. This was reiterated by Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, HYMC Director General, who spoke about the importance and need for integration of research activity alongside ongoing medical work, and the significance of academia and research for the hospital and its patients.

Later, Nobel Prize Laureate Prof. Aaron Ciechanover gave a fascinating lecture on bioethics and the personalized medicine revolution.
The hospital’s numerous publications were compiled in a special research book prepared by the director of Hillel Yaffe’s Scientific Library, Ms. Julia Kuperberg. The number of scientific publications in leading international journals is very large and covers all areas of medicine.
