26 participants who are partners in policy change processes from developing countries around the world were recently guests at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center as part of a course on the fight against gender policy held at the Mashav Center (the Foreign Ministry’s Agency for International Development Cooperation). The visit was conducted by Dr. Rinat Reines, a senior gynecologist in the Gynecology and Obstetrics Division and Director of the Helena Center at HYMC, and Social Worker Biadsa Afkar, Helena Center Coordinator.
The participants were taken on a general tour of the medical center and heard lectures by Dr. Reines and Social Worker Biadsa Afkar about the processes behind the establishment of the center, how it works and the services offered.
Note that since Helena Center opened in December 2020, approximately 170 people have been treated, and it is considered a leading center for treatment, learning and training of attending staff regarding this sensitive issue.
The center can be reached by calling the Gynecology Emergency Room at: 04-7748206 (available 24/7) or by e-mail: [email protected]
