The visit was led by HYMC Director Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, with the participation of the medical center's senior management team, IFCJ Emergency, Security and Minorities Manager Safwan Marich and other IFCJ representatives.

The relationship between Hillel Yaffee Medical Center and IFCJ began over a decade ago and remains active in a range of fields. Initially, IFCJ supported the purchase of an MRI for the hospital. Later, the unique concept of “friendship rooms” developed by the hospital and IFCJ was implemented. These are pleasant and well-equipped waiting rooms designed for families and companions near the operating rooms and delivery rooms. During the COVID-19 crisis, IFCJ donated approximately NIS 1 million for respirators and, as mentioned previously, now donated close to NIS 3.5 million for the purchase of some of the world’s most advanced equipment and technologies for the new Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, the construction of which was completed last year.

The late Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein even managed to visit the medical center himself and was able to see his organization's important contribution towards strengthening the hospital’s emergency preparedness with his own eyes. This is an issue which IFCJ works tirelessly to promote through its work.

During the visit, IFCJ President Ms. Yael Eckstein and IFCJ executives toured the new Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and heard from Cardiology Division Director, Prof. Ariel Roguin, about the very significant contribution their donation has on the health of patients. As noted above, the visit ended with the unveiling of the plaque commemorating the work of the late Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, which was hung in the lobby at the hospital's main entrance.
