The three workers’ committees of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center – the Administration, Housekeeping and Health Care Professions Committee; Nursing Committee and Physicians’ Committee – joined forces to achieve a single goal - collecting products and purchasing essential supplies for IDF soldiers and the security forces.
While they are committed and prepared for this state of emergency and continue to treat and save human lives, in less than 24 hours they were able to raise tens of thousands of shekels that will be used to purchase toiletries, clothing and essential supplies for soldiers. In addition to collecting donations, representatives of the committees, including Liat Habehil, Rina Yamenilov, Pnina Biton and Chen Korkus, purchased toiletries and textiles. All the packages that were collected were taken to two companies in northern Israel thanks to Nadav Habehil, the husband of Liat Habehil, a representative of one of the committees. Along with each package were messages and drawings by children of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center employees, in which they wish that the soldiers return quickly and safely and thank them for stepping up and protecting all of us.

The chairperson of the Administration, Housekeeping and Health Care Professions, Chen Korkus, one of the leaders of the initiative, said, “Sometimes in life, you need to make a snap decision without knowing what the results will be. Within 24 hours we were able to get all the HYMC workers’ committees together and we loaded dozens of packages that were taken to two IDF companies so that they could face the difficult challenges ahead of them in order to protect us.”
The soldiers were very moved by the gesture and especially by the touching messages from the employees’ children.
