Hillel Yaffe solidarity rally: Our hearts have been in Gaza for 100 days
The staff of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center gathered today to express their solidarity and support for the return of the hostages and missing persons who have been held captive by Hamas in Gaza for 100 days
15/01/2024
Excerpts from the speech Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, Director General of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center gave at the rally:
“Since October 7, we have all been living through an especially difficult period. We never imagined that something like this could happen, certainly not at this magnitude of destruction and harm. Three months have passed, and we are waging a war for all our homes. Today, now, stopping everything to mark 100 days of their absence could not be any more fitting and appropriate. Our hearts are with them and their families - hurting and crying, praying.

“We at the hospital know that there is nothing more sacred than life. We are dedicated every day to saving lives. Healing the body and soul is our mission and duty. We must do everything to bring the hostages and missing persons back from Gaza. Bringing them home is also part of our battle as individuals and as a nation since that horrific Saturday.
“Hoping for better days, solidarity, unwavering love for others, peace and security for ourselves and our country.”
At the rally, the hospital chaplain, Rabbi Dovev Bindiger, said a prayer for the speedy return of the hostages and missing persons and for our soldiers to come home healthy. At the end of the rally, the staff released yellow balloons with the hope that their prayers and wishes would come true soon.
