Last week, the artist Victor Halvani and his family came and were joined by the management of the medical center and Friends of Hillel Yaffe to officially inaugurate the impressive sculpture, which measures four meters wide and is almost two meters tall and is close to one ton of cast bronze. It is an environmental sculpture, which has already been on display in New York, London, Cyprus and Israel on the promenade in Jerusalem and Haifa.
The decision to donate it for the benefit of the patients, visitors and staff of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center was made after Ruti, Victor Halvani’s daughter, and Friends of Hillel Yaffe Chairman Moshe Morag were introduced. As a result of their relationship and after Morag reached out to HYMC's management, it was decided that the sculpture would be donated to the hospital.

“For some time now, we have toyed with the idea of donating a sculpture to a public institution,” said Ruti, the artist’s daughter, “Only after our conversation with Maya and then with Moshe, did we decide together with our father that Hillel Yaffe was the right place, especially in light of the fact that my father has lived in Hadera for 25 years, taught art to many as a legendary art teacher, and the fact that this is the hospital where his children and son-in-law were born.”
Victor Halvani has numerous sculptures on display at cultural centers, universities and in the homes of art collectors both in Israel and worldwide. There is a copy of the sculpture, Mother Playing with Her Child, at the Sculpture Park in the UK. Halvani created the sculpture together with his son, Yuval, an artist himself, and today, as previously mentioned, the sculpture proudly displayed at a central site at the hospital, adding joy and beauty for the benefit of all passersby.
