At the ceremony, experts from Hillel Yaffe Medical Center were awarded certificates of excellence for outstanding teaching of students last year by the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion in Haifa. The certificates, along with a gift from the hospital and a gift from the Faculty of Medicine, were given by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Ami Aronheim and Vice Dean Prof. Amir Karban, together with the Director General of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, and Head of Student Instruction at Hillel Yaffe, Dr. Efrat City, and a representative of the Technion Medical Students Committee, Ms. Avia Omer.
The outstanding physicians were from the following departments: Pediatrics, Surgery, Psychiatry, Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT), Orthopedics, Cardiology, Anesthesia, Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine A, Internal Medicine B, Neurology, Infectious Diseases and Plastic Surgery. The last of which was also selected as the outstanding department for instruction.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Aronheim noted the importance of investing in students as the next generation in medicine, as well as the important relationship between the Faculty of Medicine and Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. He further mentioned the departments that demonstrated excellence such as Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Neurology.
Director General of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, expanded on this, expressing his personal gratitude to each and every person involved in teaching. He stated that nurturing students in the right spirit of knowledge, practical work and dedication to humanity is not only a contribution to medicine, but also to the general public, which is why the hospital believes the investment in teaching is so important.
The speakers also included a representative of the Technion Medical Students Committee, Ms. Avia Omer, who referred to her educational experiences at Hillel Yaffe and praised the major effort the staff makes to invest in learning and teaching, despite the heavy load from their ongoing work.
