The second class of Hila Program has launched, with the selection of nine new residents. The vision of the program is to provide training along with personal and professional development tools for outstanding physicians and residents who will form the future medical management team of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. The program focuses on advancement and development in research, innovation, academia, management and medical excellence.
Representatives of the medical center, Edmond de Rothschild Foundation which supports the program, and Friends of Hillel Yaffe were all partners in the selection process.
Like the first class, the select group have diverse medical backgrounds: orthopedics, surgery, pediatrics, gynecology, neurology, ear-nose-throat and cardiology (heart). They were selected after a stringent screening process that focused on areas such as professional excellence, innovation and research orientation, personal excellence, original thinking, work and volunteering for the benefit of the community, as well as willingness and desire to lead horizontal and innovative processes at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center.
The Edmond de Rothschild Foundation, which supports Hila, views the cultivation of medical team leaders as frontline innovators in practice as exceptionally important. The program is designed to provide them with training and tools for personal and professional development that will guide the future generation of medical practitioners in Israel.
The Hila program was developed at Hillel Yaffe out of a belief that that development of the hospital is based primarily on the human capital that will lead it, alongside development of the infrastructures and advanced medical equipment, and that promotion of young physicians in academia, research, innovation, management and medical excellence, will cultivate trailblazing leadership at the medical center.
As part of the program, the residents will receive personal and professional enrichment, including learning, workshops, lectures, leading projects, developing a personal and professional vision, creating a professional and leadership focus track and more. Starting in their third year of the program, there is a scholarship fund of NIS 250,000 to be used for training, development and implementation of ventures, research and personal development of each resident, and will help promote the personal vision of the residents.
