Magen Sar Habriut (Minister of Health’s Award) to Dr. Jalal Ashkar

2024 Magen Sar Habriut was conferred on Dr. Jalal Ashkar, Emergency Medicine Department Director at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, in recognition of his dedication and significant contribution to the health care system though his job as a senior director - both at the personal and therapeutic levels. Additionally, Dr. Ashkar was recognized for his volunteer work and efforts to increase awareness among the community regarding health care as well as for his academic work.

Dr. Ashkal started out at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in 1986 as a young intern. He did his residency in Internal Medicine B, and then began works as a specialist in the Emergency Medicine Department and then as Department Director, a title he has held for 21 years.

Director General of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, Prof. Mickey Dudkiewicz, congratulated Dr. Ashkar on the award and said, “Dr. Ashkar is one of the most senior and best respected physicians at the hospital. He is a talented and caring physician who does an outstanding job managing our emergency room, which is one of the busiest in Israel, not to mention his far-reaching contribution to the education of students at the Technion.”
