Avigail Zilber, 67, began working at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in 1977, when she was just 20 years old. She initially worked in the Neonatal Care Department and later in the Gynecology Department. In 1985, she began working as a nurse in the Urology Department, where she worked for 38 years.

Last month, a festive retirement ceremony was held in her honor. Her family members, colleagues who worked with her over the years, and the members of the nursing administration, were all there to congratulate her on her retirement.

Hillel Yaffe's Director of Nursing, Dina Fainblat, thanked Avigail for the many years she worked with patients, always with great devotion, humanity and compassion. Her colleagues also spoke of her professionalism and dedication to nursing and wished her success in the new chapter of her life.

Avigail emotionally thanked everyone in attendance, saying, "I started my work here at the hospital as a young woman. Over the years, I was fortunate to establish a wonderful family and raise five children. Today I am beginning a new chapter in life, and I am certain that I will soon return to volunteer here, at the hospital."
