Celebrating International Women’s Day at Hillel Yaffe: Empowering Women's Voices

This week, Hillel Yaffe Medical Center held a special event in honor of International Women's Day with the theme of "Empowering Women's Voices.” The event highlighted the significant contribution of women in the healthcare system in general and at Hillel Yaffe in particular.

The event was kicked off with greetings from the Chairwoman of Na'amat Israel, Ms. Hagit Pe'er, the Chairwoman of Na'amat Hadera Region, Attorney Hadar Mesika-Sabag, and the Chairman of the Histadrut in the Hadera Region, Mr. Itzik Yitzhaki. All three noted the important role women play in society and the fact that Hillel Yaffe Medical Center serves as a shining example of egalitarianism and providing numerous opportunities for women.

This point was also emphasized by other speakers, including the Administrative Director, Rafi Koren, his deputy, Attorney Lihi Ron, the Head of Nursing Administration, Dina Fainblat, as well as representatives of the Administrative and Housekeeping Committee and the Nurses' Committee, Chen Korkos and Pnina Biton. They all mentioned how "the crisis created by the war revealed women's tremendous strength and power." Data was also presented showing that at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, women constitute half of the members of management, and that 72% of the nursing staff and 95% of the senior nursing staff are women.

The event continued with a fascinating lecture by author Meira Goldberg-Barnea, who shared her personal and inspiring story with the participants. Additionally, various commercial booths were set up for the benefit of the participants, and each woman who participated in the event received a special personal gift.

The event was produced by Administrative and Housekeeping Committee member Rina Imanilov, who also served as the emcee the event, with the assistance of Talia Wolf.

It served as an important reminder of the crucial role of women in the health care, particularly during this challenging period, and emphasized Hillel Yaffe Medical Center's commitment to gender equality and empowerment of women. This commitment was emphasized by Na'amat Chairwoman Hagit Pe'er, who promised ongoing collaboration with the medical center.
