The Goal: Excellence

A hall packed from wall to wall with happiness and smiles – that's what Hillel Yaffe Medical Center’s conference hall looked like during the ceremony awarding certificates of appreciation to employees of the medical center who demonstrated excellence in their work.

The awards were given for individual excellence and team excellence (awarded for team projects) to employees from the following departments: Surgery, Orthopedics, General Intensive Care, Delivery Room, Emergency Medicine Center, Outpatient Clinics, Spokesperson's Office, Nephrology, Patient Admissions, Pediatrics Division, Medical Library, Transportation, Technical Department, Textile Division, Sterile Supply Department, Finance, Laboratories, Imaging, Neonatal and NICU, Cardiac Intensive Care, Medical Engineering, and Grounds. Awards were also given to outstanding interns.

The ceremony honored outstanding employees from the past two years, as last year's ceremony was postponed due to the war. At the opening of the ceremony, Medical Center Director Prof. Mickey Dudkiewicz and Administrative Director Rafi Koren spoke, with both emphasizing that excellence refers to work that aims to set a different, higher personal or group standard, and that the outstanding employees clearly and strongly identify with the organization and demonstrate commitment, professionalism and initiative. They don't wait for instructions. They work as a team and advance the hospital's goals, while showing the utmost compassion and caring. Both thanked everyone for their exceptionally valuable work.

Their remarks were bolstered further in the greeting from the Chairman of the Physicians' Committee, Dr. Boris Isakovich, who noted the difficulty excelling in an organization where excellence, responsibility, dedication and especially professionalism must all be outstanding at all times.

On behalf of the honorees, Ms. Milana Abramov, Head Nurse in Orthopedics Department B, spoke about the sense of mission and said that excellence is not the achievement of one person, but the result of teamwork. She expressed gratitude for the appreciation she and her colleagues received from the hospital and also thanked her staff and the families of all the outstanding employees, who stand behind them and provide the quiet foundation to perform their work.

During the ceremony, a film about the outstanding employees was screened, and they were given certificates of appreciation and a modest gift from the hospital. At the end of the event, as always, the traditional photo of all the outstanding employees together was taken.
