New Appointment

Dr. Hochberg specialized in internal medicine and endocrinology at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at University of Michigan in the US on the subject of diabetes and insulin resistance. She is replacing Dr. Anat Yaffe who has retired.

Dr. Hochberg graduated (cum laude) from the Faculty of Medicine at the Technion, with an MD and a doctorate in medical sciences. Prior to her appointment to this position at Hillel Yaffe, she served as Diabetes Service Director at Rambam.

Dr. Hochberg serves as head of the Endocrinology Department, is a senior clinical lecturer and academic director of the School of Continuing Medical Education at the Technion's Faculty of Medicine. She is a leader in the national diabetologist training program in Israel, where she teaches the medical and nursing staff, interns and medical students. She has published numerous articles in professional journals and lectures at national and international conferences. She is also a member of the executive committee of the Israel Diabetes Association, the National Diabetes Council and the Endocrine Association.

Her main research topics include the use of digital technologies in medicine, molecular mechanisms of diabetes, insulin resistance and treatment of diabetes in hospitalized patients.

I look forward to combining advanced research with outstanding clinical care that is patient focused. As someone who has been highly involved in training interns and physicians, I believe this field is also exceptionally important and intend to develop the unit as a center of excellence in clinical training and advanced medical education."
