The Israel Cancer Association (ICA) launched a new branch office in Hillel Yaffe Medical Center's Oncology-Hematology Center in Hadera. This branch joins the ICA’s approximately 70 branches across the country, offering patients, survivors and their family members support services as well as body, mind and creative activities free of charge. Among other things, the ICA's new branch office will offer support groups for patients and survivors, cancer rehabilitation, Pilates classes, Qi Gong, yoga, and painting and sculpting classes. The branch will be operated by Israel Cancer Association volunteers and will serve as a warm and accessible ‘home’ for patients and their families, adjacent to the treatment facility.
Along with the establishment of the new branch office, the Israel Cancer Association donated NIS 0.5 million, thanks to the estate of the late Mrs. Meira Roda, to support the establishment of the new Oncology-Hematology Center at the hospital.

“The establishment of the new Oncology-Hematology Institute with the help of this generous donation, alongside the opening of the ICA's new branch are both highly significant for the lives of many cancer patients in our region, whose numbers, unfortunately, continue to grow each year," said Hillel Yaffe Medical Center Director Prof. Mickey Dudkiewicz.
Director General of the Israel Cancer Association, Moshe Bar-Haim, who participated in the branch inauguration event, accompanied by the Association’s Deputy Director, General Lili Biller-Lev, and Director of the Rehabilitation and Support Department, Orit Shapira, stated that "Opening the new branch, which will be operated by ICA volunteers, will enable a comprehensive and effective response to the medical and emotional needs of cancer patients in the Hadera area. I warmly welcome the collaboration between Hillel Yaffe Medical Center and the Israel Cancer Association, and I am confident that this collaboration will greatly benefit patients."
According to estimates by the Israel Cancer Association, as of 2025, approximately 33,600 new cancer patients are diagnosed in Israel each year. The most common types of cancer among women are breast cancer and colorectal cancer, and among men, prostate cancer and lung cancer. The Israel Cancer Association reminds the public that early detection can save lives through screenings performed free of charge at the HMOs as part of the national health basket.
