With hostages still in captivity and in memory of the individuals murdered and those who fell defending their homeland, a memorial ceremony marking two years since the October 7th events was held in the courtyard at the entrance to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center’s inpatient buildings. It was attended by hundreds of the medical center’s employees - all holding red flowers and Israeli flags.

The ceremony opened with a moment of silence in memory of those who were murdered as well as for the fallen. Then, Prof. Mickey Dudkiewicz, Director General of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center spoke, addressing the never-ending throbbing pain and how the war is still fresh in every corner. He emphasized our nation’s need for cohesion and unity, for peace and for restoring trust and security.

At the end of the ceremony, the hospital’s rabbi, Dovev Bindiger, recited a prayer for the wellbeing of our soldiers and security forces, the speedy and safe return of the hostages, and for the State of Israel. After the singing of Hatikva, memorial candles were lit, and red flowers were placed around them.
