This event marks yet another step in strengthening the relationship between Hillel Yaffe Medical Center and the region’s community of expectant mothers. It was held in partnership with Menifa - the Israeli Doula Association. Participants enjoyed an indulgent breakfast, a guided tour of the hospital's new delivery rooms and a lecture followed by open dialog with the department staff and hospital administration. The doulas were impressed by the advanced facilities, the new and well-equipped delivery rooms, the professionalism of the staff and the warm atmosphere that truly characterizes the department at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center.
Tanya Levy, Head Nurse of the Delivery Rooms, who was in charge of the gathering, emphasized that doulas are natural partners to the staff. "When the midwife and doula work together, the woman in labor is the clear winner. She is at the center, and our shared goal is to provide her with a positive experience in all respects - emotional, physical and professional. A doula who comes here is welcomed as a member of the team, with warmth, attentiveness and full cooperation."

Levy added that in recent years, more and more women are choosing to be accompanied by a doula during childbirth, which is why it is important for doulas in the region to be familiar with the delivery rooms and staff members. "The midwife can't always be at the woman's side, and the doula completes the supportive experience. When we have open communication, it works beautifully."
Professor Ilan Bruchim, Director of the Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science Department, who was also part of the tour, added, "Our new delivery rooms were designed with the woman in labor and everyone supporting her in mind, so that each woman feels at home here. We view doulas as an integral part of the birth support system."
The gathering concluded with a workshop on the Power of Gentleness method, led by Ilanit Yissaschar, as well as joint decisions regarding continued collaboration between the staff and the doulas.
At the end of the event, participants expressed their enthusiasm for the new delivery rooms and the professional yet warm atmosphere.
