Last Friday, the Maternity Division at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center hosted another Pregnancy and Childbirth Conference. Among the exhibits and presentations, expectant mothers and their partners had the opportunity to connect directly with the clinical staff who will care for them during and after labor and delivery.

Throughout the conference, participants were shown the newly completed delivery rooms, along with a comprehensive review of the services available to mothers from the moment they arrive and even after childbirth: prenatal screening by the Ultrasound Unit, collaboration with the Complementary Medicine Clinic, and the range of available birth options were all highlighted. The conference also presented impressive data that places Hillel Yaffe at the forefront of a patient-centered approach: one that supports fewer labor inductions and promotes freedom of choice when it comes to pain management during birth (without an epidural).

Tanya Levy, Delivery Room Charge Nurse, shared that the delivery room staff consistently goes the extra mile to create a supportive, professional environment - one that is intimate and puts women in control of their birth experience, to the fullest extent they wish and their medical condition allows, “Our goal is to give every woman her own safe space - whether she chooses a natural childbirth or opts for medical intervention. We’re here committed to being attentive to her body's pace, using a wide range of pain relief techniques and tools, including complementary medicine, nitrous oxide and more.”

The conference was held in partnership with the Holistic Center in Hadera, which offers a broad range of support and enrichment activities throughout maternity leave, based on the belief that birth is only the beginning of the journey.
