During the visit, committee members and Knesset Member Adi Azuz, Acting Chair of the Committee, received an overview of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center's activities from Hospital Director Prof. Mickey Dudkiewicz and Deputy Director, Dr. Dikla Dahan-Shriki. They also heard a presentation on the work of the Center for Treatment of Sexual Assault Victims (HELENA Center), one of the leading centers of its kind in Israel. It is headed by Dr. Renat Reens-Carmel, a senior physician in the Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science Division.

Visit by the Knesset’s Committee on the Status of Women to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center and the HELENA Center
The visit was attended by senior representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Hospital Division, the National Social Work Service, and rape crisis centers, as well as staff from Hillel Yaffe Medical Center's Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science Division.
Participants learned about the range of services provided at the center, some of which were established and developed for the first time by the current leadership team. These services enable comprehensive and optimal care for those in need of treatment in an acute care examination room, including telemedicine services for sexual assault survivors, a dedicated follow-up clinic, an integrated mental health clinic, and more.
It is noteworthy that since its establishment in 2020, the staff at Hillel Yaffe's HELENA Center has handled more than 350 cases. The center serves as a model for acute care centers, contributes to the development of national treatment protocols, and supports the establishment of additional acute care examination rooms across the country.
