Ministry of Health and Home Front Command Representatives Visit Hillel Yaffe for Emergency Preparedness Review

The medical center's management team, who accompanied the delegation throughout the visit, provided an overview of the hospital's strengths and gaps during this emergency and in general. During the tour, the representatives attended a situation room briefing and visited the protected emergency rooms as well as the inpatient departments, whose activity has been scaled back significantly given the current situation and in accordance with Ministry of Health requirements.

Prof. Mickey Dudkiewicz, Director of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, reminded everyone that the hospital is in the middle of construction of a building housing a protected emergency room, inpatient rooms, and operating room facilities, which will serve a population of over 600,000 people in the region, both in emergencies and in normal times. Significant funding is still needed to complete it.

Hillel Yaffe Medical Center has stated that at this stage: 

• Hospital operations have been scaled back in accordance with official directives, and staff are working in protected and underground areas, including the emergency rooms, delivery rooms and the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), all of which are functioning normally in protected facilities. 
• Dialysis treatments, oncology treatments, catheterizations, IVF services, emergency surgeries and essential imaging are all continuing as usual. 
• Outpatient clinic activity has been suspended for the most part. The possibility of operating certain clinics online is being explored. The relevant patients will be notified individually. 
• Some of the hospital's internal medicine departments have been relocated to the underground facility at Rambam Medical Center.

Please note that due to the current situation, only one companion per patient will be permitted in all departments.

The hospital has opened childcare for employees with young children, in partnership with the Hadera Municipality, to support staff required to continue working as usual.
