The ceremony opened with a moment of silence observed as the memorial siren sounded, followed by the hospital's rabbi recitation of Yizkor. Medical Center Director Prof. Mickey Dudkiewicz then spoke, stating, "Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day is a day for understanding just how fragile reality can be. How vital it is that we have our own country and how vital it is to protect it. The memory of the Holocaust serves as our moral compass as a people and as a society, alongside the importance of remaining strong, standing tall, and most importantly safeguarding our freedom and independence in our own country."

Following a brief song, Rabbi Dovev Bindiger chanted El Maleh Rachamim, after which Dr. Hezzy Shmueli of the Cardiology Department delivered a short lecture titled, "From Antisemitism to Genocide - Was the Holocaust Planned?” The lecture traced the rise of the Nazi Party from its founding and showed how, from its very beginnings, it had planned the annihilation of the Jewish people.
The ceremony concluded with the lighting of memorial candles in memory of those who perished and with the singing of Hatikvah, reflecting the strength of the medical staff who walk the fine line between loss and continuity, between life and death every single day.
