“Comfortable” Donation

During the month of July 2012 representatives of the management and the Workers Committee and the pensioners of the Northern Division of the Electricity Company came for an introductory visit at the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. During the visit a sum of 30,000 NIS was donated.

Those who took part in the visit were the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Yaakov Davida, and the Manager of the Northern Welfare Division, Mr. Moti Wagner, who presented Dr. Amnon Ben Moshe, the Administrative Manager of the hospital, with the donation. The committee members said that the amount donated was the product of regular donations intended for the welfare of the community and set aside each month by each worker and every pensioner, in the committee. 16 reclining chairs were purchased for patients recovering in the various departments of the medical center.

During their visit the committee members toured the medical center, and visited the Children’s Ward, the Preemie Ward, the Cardiology Intensive Care Unit and parts of the new In-Patient Recovery building. Dr. Ben Moshe, accompanied the tour and explained the many needs of the hospital and the importance he attributes to such donations as provided by the people of the committee, and was promised that this donation was just “the beginning.” Dr. Ben Moshe said that he was glad to see that such a wonderful and friendly bond had been made between the hospital and the Workers’ Committee of the Northern Division of the Electricity Company, and that they chose “Hillel Yaffe” as the recipient of the donation. Dr. Ben Moshe added in saying that the pleasant atmosphere, the friendliness of the meeting and the unrelenting readiness to continue to donate to the hospital in the future, should not be taken for granted, and are certainly good signs for more of the same in the future.

In addition to this, about a week afterwards, the representative of the Workers’ Committee of the Electricity Company and their pensioners and the welfare division of the company arrived again, to donate 50 pictures from the “Israeli art” collection, paintings made by Israeli artists, which will be hung throughout the hospital.
