New Head Nurse Appointed

At the beginning of February, Ms. Dina Fainblat assumed the managerial position of Head Nurse at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. Fainblat replaces Ms. Esther Cohen, who served as Head Nurse for 17 years and retired after 44 years of highly dedicated service with the hospital in a variety of positions.

Fainblat, who previously served as Cohen's deputy, is also a long-standing Hillel Yaffe staff member, with a proven track record in a range of positions at the hospital over the past 30 years. Fainblat’s previous positions include serving as a registered nurse in the Emergency Medicine Department, general nurse, supervisor in the Nursing Administration, Hospital Emergency Coordinator and Manager of In-Service Training.

In her most recent role as Deputy Head Nurse, a position she assumed in 1998, Dina consulted and mentored staff in the Maternity Wing and the Emergency Medicine Department (EMD), led projects to promote nursing, managed nursing personnel and was a permanent participant in hospital-wide projects such as the Steering Committee for Hospital Accreditation, the Institutional Resuscitation Committee, Violence Committee, Quality Improvement Committee and more.

She received her degree as a registered nurse from the School of Nursing at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center and then went on to complete a bachelor's degree in nursing from Tel Aviv University, graduating with honors, and a Master's degree in Health Systems Policy and Administration from University of Haifa.

Prof. Meir Oren, HYMC Director General, had very warm words for Ms. Fainblat as she stepped into her new position, "I have no doubt that Ms. Fainblat will bring her warm and caring personality and professionalism to this position, both of which are important in further instilling excellence in all aspects of nursing HYMC requires.
