The Pediatric Department of Hillel Yafe Medical Center received a donation of 15 tablet computers this week. A donation, the sole purpose of which is to ease the stress and the time at the hospitalized children department.
The source of the donation, received from the Kaminner family, was a sale of a unique collectable Jaguar, that has been reconstructed, restored and maintained over the years, by the family’s father, the late Nahum Kaminner. The father passed away in 1992 and the precious vehicle was stored, until the recent year when the family- consisting of Nahum’s widow, Sara and his three children, Ronit, Galia and Dror- decided to sell the car, due to maintenance and storage difficulties.

The car was sold to an Israeli collector, and the family decided to use the money for purchasing, what they considered to be a positive and essential product – tablet computers that would be donated to Pediatric Department in hospitals across the country, including the Pediatric Department in Hillel Yafe Medical Center, which is also the hospital where Dror- the youngest in the family and a resident of Caesarea- was born.
As stated, this week along with Nahum Kamminer’s commemoration, the family members arrived at the Hillel Yafe Medical Center Pediatric Department to grant their donation in a moving ceremony.
Dr. Adi Klein, the department’s chief physician, says that donating these tablet computers, with the hospitalized children in mind, is important and especially moving, given the story behind it.
On the other hand, the family members who toured the department and were impressed by the services the department provides, asked to emphasize that the extended family is happy to give a little entertainment and activity to the sweet hospitalized children.
