Only the best at Hillel Yaffe

The large audience that filled the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center auditorium this week for the annual ceremony awarding certificates of appreciation to outstanding employees and volunteers was held demonstrated precisely the love and respect felt for all of this year's recipients who took center stage to receive their awards.

The recipients included: a senior nurse in Orthopedics A, the head technician in the Heart Institute's Echo Unit, an employee in the Biochemistry Laboratory, the work supervisor in the Technical Department, the Deputy Security Officer, the peritoneal dialysis staff of the Nephrology Institute, and the Research Coordination Nurse at the Heart Institute. 

Senior prizes of excellence were also awarded by the Ministry of Health to six employees this year: Rafi Koren - Deputy Administrative Director, Dr. Moni Litmanovich - Director of the General Intensive Care Unit, Tova Lupo - Head Nurse of Orthopedics B, Perach Menachem - Deputy Head Nurse of the Delivery Room, social worker Ilana Fishensohn - Deputy Director of the Social Service, and Dr. Farid Masarwy - Senior Physician in Internal Medicine A. They will also participate in the special ceremony to be held at the Ministry of Health.

The ceremony itself was opened by Dr. Amnon Ben Moshe, Administrative Director of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, who stated that outstanding employees add unique value to routine work and that they are motivated through their identification with the organization, sense of responsibility and the drive to be the very best.

Prof. Meir Oren, Director General of the medical center, followed by saying, "Standing here and handing certificates of appreciation to outstanding individuals is very moving. For us, they are like the North Star, true role models for other employees." He continued, "None of this would be possible without the support of the employees' families, and they also deserve our thanks." Dina Fainblat, Head Nurse, added, "Most people do what they are supposed to, but outstanding employees are not motivated by what has to be done, but by their drive for excellence."

During the ceremony, which was organized by the Human Resources Department, representatives of the Physicans Committee, Nurses Committee and a representative on behalf of the volunteers, Moshe Eliyahu, who volunteers in Surgery B, also congratulated the individuals being honored. Tova Lupo, who received one of the more senior prizes, spoke on behalf of the recipients. She thanked the administration and the Selection Committee for their faith in the employees selected and emphasized that the desire to set another standard, the need for a breakthrough in promoting the quality of service and improving satisfaction are what guide the drive for excellence and the desire to justify the hospital's motto, "It's all about the people."

The ceremony ended with the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center's choir singing a medley of peace songs, which sent the large audience back to their daily routine feeling uplifted and proud.
