Born to be sisters

While sisters Ina and Ella Shotman were pregnant together, they never planned on being in the delivery room at the same time. Turns out things don't always go as planned, and the sisters gave birth only a few hours apart.

Yesterday the joy in the delivery room at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center was indescribable, when sisters Ina and Ella Shotman from Hadera gave birth one right after the other.

It all began when 28-year-old Ina Shotman came with her sister, Ella, and their mother to the delivery room. Ella's delivery progressed normally, and she gave birth to her third daughter, much to the delight of her entire family.

But it was her sister Ina who surprised them all, when she unexpectedly started experiencing contractions right afterwards. And so, five and half hours after the birth of her new niece, a nephew was born - a second son to Ina Shotman.

According to the sisters, the timing was completely random. According to the week of pregnancy, it was actually Ina who should have given birth first. "In the end, we did it together," both sisters said delightedly.

And what does the Obstetrics team have to say? "We've already cases where sisters have given birth more or less at the same time, but in this case, it was unexpected, especially because Ina only came to the hospital to support her sister. Now they can celebrate their children's birthday together each year."
