"Working with the community to benefit the residents is very important to us," said Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, Acting Director General of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, at the opening of the meeting between the hospital administration, and heads and representatives of the local authorities for which the hospital serves as their natural catchment area. Fifteen heads of authorities and councils in the region attended the meeting, and they were joined by the directors of the hospital's departments and units. The concept behind the meeting was to familiarize them with the work at the hospital and to discuss possible cooperation to the benefit of the patients and their families.
During the meeting, Dr. Dudkiewicz provided an overview of the hospital's work and its centers of excellence, the extensive infrastructure development as well as the comprehensive services the medical center offers residents of the region in all areas of medicine. When the overview was completed, the participants held a productive discussion on strengthening cooperation between the hospital and the community. They were also taken on a short tour of the Departments of Pediatrics and Obstetrics. Furthermore, it was agreed that there is a mutual desire to continue cooperation and to establish a forum to strengthen the relationship between the hospital and the community.
