Last Thursday, Minister of Health Rabbi Yakov Litzman celebrated the renovation of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center's Maternity Ward and Nursery Unit. The ceremony, attended by the heads of the authorities, senior officials from the Ministry of Health, members of the hospital's Friendship Association, hospital employees, and of course, the new mothers and their families, marked the end of a long period in which the Maternity Ward underwent numerous structural changes. It now offers accommodations at the same level as private hospitals along with uncompromising professionalism.
During the ceremony, when Minister of Health Litzman and Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, Director General of HYMC brought their greetings, Rabbi Litzman said he was happy about the inauguration ceremony for the important ward, and was even happier that the Ministry of Health would be assisting with funding of NIS 50 million for a new and protected Department of Urgent Care (Emergency Room).
Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz, Director General of Hillel Yaffe, thanked the Minister for this funding, while emphasizing the project's importance for the welfare of the patients.
Additionally, as part of the happy occasion of the inauguration of the renovated ward and unit, Dr. Dudkiewicz said, "All staff members of the Maternity Ward are assigned the task of giving each woman who arrives the finest and most professional care, along with the feeling that this is the best place to give birth and spend the first days after delivery. Therefore, a great deal of effort and thought were invested in the renovation of the building housing the Maternity Ward, the Nursery Unit and the delivery rooms."
Dr. Dudkiewicz thanked everyone who took part in this major project and wrapped things up by saying, "Without a doubt, you can feel the changes and they contribute significantly to the comfort the patients and their families require, in those first moment with their babies."
Throughout the day, the new mothers in the hospital also enjoyed a special celebration with a happening that included balloons for all of them, photos of the babies and families, shirts saying "I was born at Hillel Yaffe" for the newborns and more.
