The original date was January 2, 2017, but that didn't bother Naama Jaffe-Dadush and her husband Shai from coming to the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center's delivery room right before saying goodbye to 2016. Their firstborn, a son, chose to make his grand entrance two hours after they arrived, to kick off the New Year on January 1, 2017, a great date for a firstborn.
During the birth, she was assisted by none other than her sister, Yuval, a midwife in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, who routinely works in the Hillel Yaffe delivery room. Naturally on hand during the birth was her mother, who happens to be the Director of the hospital's Endocrinology Unit, Dr. Anat Jaffe. An especially happy family affair to get the New Year off to a good start.
By 9:00 a.m., another five new babies had been born to welcome the New Year, all boys.
Congratulations and Happy New Year!
