Pampering parents to be

Last Friday, it was almost 30° C outside, but in the conference hall at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center, the air conditioner cooled over 150 pregnant women and their guests, who came to enjoy a lovely event designed for parents to be. In keeping with the pregnancy and childbirth fair traditionally held by the Hillel Yaffe Maternity Department, the event included a light and delicious breakfast, enriching lectures given by the department's experts in a variety of fields, massages by practitioners from the hospital's Alternative Medicine Clinic and exhibitors with booths, which completed the happy atmosphere.

During the fair, organized with the help of Shirley Regev and Nicole Yashar, Hillel Yaffe's professional staff gave lectures on a variety of topics, including: getting to know the Maternity Department - a lecture given by Dr. Haim David, Head of the Delivery Room; all about zero separation - a lecture given by Orly Basis, Clinical Supervisor; ultrasound screening during pregnancy - lecture given by Asst. Prof. Aon Shrim, Director of the Ultrasound Unit; alternative medicine in delivery rooms - lecture given by Danit Katz-Stern, therapist certified by the hospital’s Alternative Medicine Clinic. Another lecture, which was very warmly received by the audience, was given by numerologist Dov Gruner, who discussed selecting a name for your newborn.

At the end of the day, the Hillel Yaffe experts wished all of the women an easy birth and invited them to participate in a breastfeeding event to be held at the end of July.
