The first babies of the new year are always a good reason for celebration. From the last day of 5779 until the first morning of 5780, Hillel Yaffe Medical Center’s Delivery Room also ushered in the entrance of 11 new babies, including the son of Dana and Ran Degani from Hadera, who was delivered with a regular birth and weighed 3.390 kg. Ran and Dana’s firstborn daughter, aged 1.5, is waiting for them at home. The birth, which took place at 41 weeks and 3 days of pregnancy, was attended by midwife Katia Amerana.

“I came for a check-up to the Delivery Room on the day before the festival,” relates Dana, “because my estimated due date had already passed, and the staff decided to hospitalize and induce me. It seems like he wanted to be born in the new year. The birth itself went very quickly once I was induced, and now I just need to get used to having two instead of one, especially since they are very close in age,” she concludes, while the newborn in her arms makes baby noises.

Dr. Haim David, Head of the Maternity Ward and Delivery Room, tells us that the month of holidays and September and October are always considered big baby months. He also notes that over 4,700 births took place at Hillel Yaffe this year, a 5% increase compared to the previous one. What we could term a productive year.
