Minister of Foreign Affairs Gabi Ashkenazi was a guest of the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. During his visit, aside from the brief review provided by Director of Hillel Yaffe Medical Center Dr. Mickey Dudkiewicz in the presence of the hospital management, Ashkenazi also toured the various hospital departments, where he saw close-up the complex situation due to coronavirus and in general. Foreign Minister Ashkenazi’s tour included the department for those diagnosed with coronavirus, the General Intensive Care Unit, and the area for women needing gynecological care or delivering babies who are suspected of having COVID. The Foreign Minister also heard about future development plans for the hospital, including a new bombproof building for the Department of Emergency Medicine, and construction of additional structures for the Internal Medicine departments.

It was important for the Foreign Minister to note that the staff is constantly doing devoted and wonderful work, by saying: “The work here is extremely significant and the hospital’s capabilities must be expanded regarding construction, infrastructure, and funding for more employees, to meet the needs of the local population which is constantly increasing. I hope that when I next visit there will be more buildings and departments here. The staff here is dealing 24/7 with a reality which is far from simple and doing important and amazing work. All that is left for me to say is: Way to go!”
